Holidays Are Coming :)

Holidays are indeed coming, and I cant wait to be back home in Glasgow :) Christmas is such an amazing and happy time, I miss Darren <3 family & friends dearly this year, This is our final year and it has being mega hectic! I promised myself back in Oct I was going to keep up to date with blogging but it just hasn't happened! :/ I have uploaded a few projects that I have been working on this year, I am having some difficulties getting everything on! I have currently been working on my website, it is a project that I completed last year but its just one of those things that I have never been happy with to put online, need it to be just PERFECT :) hopefully that should be coming soon too along with all the other masshoosive amount of work we have! Dissertation just isn't cool over the Christmas Holidays! boo!

I absolutly love the coca cola advert its one of those things when u see it u just know its Christmas Time!

ZEST Harbourside & Restaurant

This was my 2nd brief of the year, I was asked too re-design the identity of the Zest Restaurant & Harbourside Restaurant, This is my logo, and a few bits of stationary to go along with it :) I was really happy with the outcome of my designs for this brief. All comments are welcome good or bad!

Experimental Typography

I was asked to collect as many materials as I could which are white only, and experiment in finding ways to make individual letterforms using these materials, I choose to use white cappa board, below are a few of my finished letterforms and a promotional poster for the typefce, atm the moment I am still working on them , but tthis is a rough idea of wat i have :)

experiment and design a constructive typeface somthing that hasnt been used or produced
I'm thinking great this will be brilliant but oh my wat a job its been!!

Caledonian MacBrayne Annual Report

We were asked to design an Annual Report for several different companys. I choose to to re-design the annual report for Caledonain MacBrayne. The corporate message of this annual report was to show that the company is proffesional, the reason I choose the colours for my spread was to give it a softer feel and also the lines througout the spread were to create a wave which I feel was appropriate for this subject.

Rocking Through the Years, this is a project where I researched the Top 60 Rock Bands and different genres of rock. I had much fun with this project. <3

Today i took a wee visit to Waterstone book shop, on the intention o n buying books for this new project (Annual Report) but instead i choose to buy this book by Gestolten - book of logos, basically i think it was more of an impulse buy to be honest, i loved the cover, and as Rhinannon did go on to us while doing the book jackets about how u can just buy a book for its cover, well this happened to me today! :)

Grow Your Own range

The aim of this brief was to attract a new target audience to gardening rather than your average garden novilsts, I choose to attract a young business couple who wouldn't be very interested in gardening, though do have a passion for cooking, hense the reason for the style of this packaging, it was more to attract them to the design rather than the gardening side at first.

this has made me quite upset.

We have finally finished the 'Grow Your Own' it was a rather long brief, I had some ups and downs with it and found out quite alot about fruit and vegetables and how they are actually grown, and let me tell u its not all about flinging some seeds into the ground, some interesting facts and some very boring!

So after this long dreaary period of learning about fruit and vegetables i actually feel in this project I achieved alot, I feel very happy with it, due to the fact as well I was asked to enter the D&AD Awards, which is a 1st for me, so i am rather excited about this! I am just wishing at the moment i could post my work,

Semester 2- fun fun fun! well hopfully!

I have made myself a new rule to write more stuff on this,, rather than me just putting all my work on n not really gibberin away, well sometimes i feel thats what im best at! so this is me plodding my way into semester 2, we'v been given a new project for "Grown your Own" vegtables or fruiit, and also tryiing to encourage a new target market for gardening!! should be fun i think!

Book Jackets.... aaah lovely! :)

okaaaaay so here you go these are my finished book jackets, we were asked to complete 1 fiction or non-fiction book, i choose Sheena Mackay 'The Atmospheric Railway' which i thought turned out not to bad, i was also asked to design a book series of our own choice, i choose to do Feminism and Emotion below are my finished book jackets.
I came up with trying to give my covers a elegant look and feel to it with a soft touch to it aswell, I feel this has worked well with Feminism and Emotion.
